Topic:

Whether you are a new DBA or a seasoned professional, these are the critical items you need to do to make sure your PostgreSQL clusters are healthy and happy. Many times, we can’t control what applications are doing to our servers, but we can do a lot to make sure they’re ready for the flood. We will discuss Backups, Restores, Performance configuration, Vacuum policies, Size/Structure concerns, and several other items. I’ll share free scripts you can use anytime to really understand your server. This is a great session for DBAs, accidental DBAs, and anyone that is interested in understanding more about the clusters they manage.

Speaker:

I have been a DBA for the past 20+ years, I’ve worked with SQL Server, Postgres, and Mysql. Big data Technologies (hadoop, hive, spark). I work with data in every aspect whether reporting/storing or transforming. I also run Utah Geek Events and volunteer to help and build the community whenever I can.
