For years, Profiler and traces were the way we answered the question, “What’s happening in my SQL Server?” A new tool has emerged to answer that question with more options, which give you more information – Extended Events. In this talk, you will learn the building blocks of Extended Events sessions.You’ll see a side-by-side comparison of how to create a trace and a session – and learn how much more information you gain from the session! You will also learn a step-by-step method to convert existing traces to sessions. After attending this session, you’ll confidently be able to move from Profiler to Extended Events.
